Dr Yasmina Saade de Chaisemartin
Training & Background
Board-certified in adult, child and adolescent psychiatry (American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology). Trained at Johns Hopkins University and Washington University in St. Louis, with added psychotherapy training through the Washington Baltimore Center for Psychoanalysis. Also completed clinical and research work in Paris at the Pitié-Salpêtrière Hospital. Earned her MD and BA in Biology from the American University of Beirut.
Current Roles
Assistant Professor of Psychiatry and Pediatrics at George Washington University. Staff Psychiatrist at Children’s National Hospital and part of the Anxiety Disorders Program. Actively involved in teaching, supervision, and collaborative care. Adjunct Assistant Professor at the Lebanese American University School of Medicine.
Culturally Attuned & Multilingual Care
Care is guided by a culturally informed approach used in everyday practice. Works in English, French, and Arabic; conversational in Italian and Portuguese. This perspective grew from diverse educational and clinical experiences across the U.S., Europe, and the Middle East, including time at Johns Hopkins Hospital, Kennedy Krieger Institute, Barnes-Jewish Hospital, St. Louis VA, McCallum Place, Harvard/Beth Israel Deaconess, Memorial Epworth Hospital, Pitié-Salpêtrière in Paris, ISMETT in Palermo, and in Lebanon at the American University of Beirut Medical Center and Makassed Hospital. More recently, participated in developing an international educational initiative for psychiatry trainees in the U.S., Lebanon, and Qatar; this collaborative work received a Global Health Initiative (GHI) Pilot Award.
Therapy-Informed Collaborative Psychiatric Care
Care is informed by CBT, ACT, and psychodynamic principles, integrated into psychiatric treatment. Works collaboratively with patients, families, therapists, and other medical providers to support coordinated care.

Licensed in Maryland, Washington, DC, and Virginia. Member of AACAP, APA, of the Maryland State Medical Society and the Montgomery County Medical Society.
